# FLOORING SYSTEM FAILURE - due to high moisture content in concrete slabs. Curling, peeling, delamination and blisters are all positive indicators that moisture may be an issue to deal with.
# Polymerica Moisture Vapor Passivator (MVP)

DESCRIPTION

MasterShield MVP is a chemically resistant epoxy barrier system that will mitigate the effects of moisture vapor transmission and the chemical degradation that can occur at the interface of Portland cement concrete and impermeable polymer floor coverings. In addition to reducing the rate of vapor transmission MVP will passivate the alkalinity that is a detriment to the bond of polymer adhesives, coatings or surfaces.

We highly recommend moisture vapor testing of any slab on or below grade which will subsequently be treated with an impermeable material. MVP is not an engineered solution for concrete slabs that have not been adequately waterproofed. Contact Polymerica for questions or concerns regarding test methods, product limitations, and warranty information.

PRODUCT FEATURES

  • Breathable epoxy allows vapor to equilibrate
    within the systems
  • Reduces risk of blistering and delaminating,
allowing the application of impermeable polymer surfacers and adhesives.
  • High solids and odorless allows installation in
    occupied facilities.
  • Can be applied to damp surfaces and 5 day old concrete.

APPLICATION

MasterShield MVP is generally installed in two coats at 20 mils and 10 mils. It can also be applied as a self-leveling slurry up to 1/8 inch or as troweled surfacer at a nominal 1/4 inch thickness.
